experiencing in the field of pharmacy ( community internship )
as a pharmacy student and a future pharmacist also ( i hope so ) many things that we often deal with this things our the experiences that we encounter during our internships. when we undergo in the community internship we prescribe and counsel our patient by the help of our assigned pharmacist they guide us to do well in our job, we also do compounding drugs such as paper tabs, preparing drugs for the patients.
community internship is one of the requirements of the PRC or professional regulation commission to have a extensive internships to act as a simulation to our future jobs. They requires 200 hours for minor internship and 360 for the major internship this will be guide towards in our future field as pharmacist. in the community internship they thought us to dispense drugs such OTC ( over the counter) drugs, and they help us to enhance our skills as a student pharmacist. in 200 hours of our duty in community internship we always familiarize the bottle and the color of the of drugs that assign in my area and have a quiz after the familiarization. the quiz is the way in preparing us to know and have an idea of each drugs so that when we go to the hospital internship we already know what drug we will provide to our patient. even though it so exhausted in every internship that we have , we always look forward to do it heartily and enjoy it because it can help us to be more knowledgeable enough to become a license pharmacist.. I've done my community internship in the school that i spent my studies in 3 years exactly ( not to mention the school :) ) every summer we have our internship so all of us are spending our summer vacation in internship, no time for ''gimik'' and beach. so sad but pretty much exciting because it is the way of passing our subjects.haha! its also develop our interpersonal communication skills to the patient so that we don't have the hard time in communicating our patient in counselling them.
